To the ten Italian flags that were drawn in the mens tournament bracket of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel on Saturday night, another three were added, thanks to the qualifiers. Not included were those of the two Romans, Michele Bruno and Luca Mezzetti, who, following their grand victory on Saturday, were unable to perform at the same level against the Spanish brothers Alvaro and Pedro Melendez Amaya, falling with a score of 6-1 6-3 in 59 minutes. Nonetheless, three Italian Argentinian players have earned themselves a spot in the sun.

In chronological order, the first to succeed was Emiliano Iriart, born in 1994 and residing in Syracuse (where he teaches), whom, together with the naturalized Italian citizen, Carlos Perez-Cabeza, who moved from Spain to our country, following the opposite path to that of many, qualified for the Foro Italico for the second year in a row. In the match that commenced Sunday's program at the Pietrangeli court, the two, a fixed pair for some time now, defeated the Spaniards Aliaga/Ronco Lopez with a score of 6-3 7-6.

Aris Patiniotis, on the other hand, needed a third-set tiebreak: the player (who originates from the Italian region of Campania ) already winner of the national championship in 2022 with the Orange Padelclub and competing with the Spaniard Emilio Sanchez Chamero, defeated the Jimenez/Sanchez Pineiro duo with a score of 1-6 6-3 7-6. Nicolas Suescun also made it to the main draw: together with Pablo Garcia, the Italian Argentinian defeated Sergi Nogueras and Gonzalo Perez Arbona in the decisive round. On Sunday in Rome, Argentinian pair Mourino/Piotto, Spaniards Ayats/Guerrero and Marmolejo/Chozas all cleared the qualifiers successfully.
