A year after their triumph at the Foro Italico, their first together in the Premier Padel circuit followed by achieving the status of the No. 1 pair in the world, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia are ready to aim for a second victory. The Spaniard and the Argentine lead the men's main draw of the BNL Italy Major in Rome, which, like all the top eight seeds, will see them start from the second round (Wednesday). Their opponents will be the winners of the match between Nunes/Silingo and two qualifiers.
Also in the top half of the draw are Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebron, the No. 4 pair. In the bottom half, Federico Chingotto and Ale Galan (who won the inaugural 2022 edition in Rome), already having claimed 3 titles together in the last 5 tournaments, will be featured. Their debut will certainly be against an Italian team, as Riccardo Sinicropi (who conducted the draw) paired himself and Lorenzo Di Giovanni against the duo of multiple Italian champion Simone Cremona and Portuguese player Nuno Deus, promising a thrilling first round. Also in the bottom half are the “Superpibes” Di Nenno/Stupaczuk and Fernando Belasteguin, who will be playing for the last time in Rome paired with Juan Tello.
Among the other Italian players: Flavio Abbate and Giulio Graziotti will make their debut (together) in the main draw of a major circuit tournament against Carlos Marti and Miguel Angel Solbes, in a match that seems possible. Marco Cassetta and Argentine Dylan Demien Cuello will face Raul Marcos and Gonza Alfonso. Among the homegrown talents, Patiniotis/Dominguez will face the No. 12 seeds Capra/Chozas, while Denis Perino (paired with Pablo Garcia) will meet a duo coming from the qualifiers. Navarro/Lebron await the winners.
